>we did extensive research in to this film and found that the film had
been 6 weeks into production in the old-fashioned format before
CinemaScope (Hypergonar) filming commenced. 

Is it possible the "old-fashioned format" was 1.33:1 2D/3D? The 6 weeks of
production took place before "House of Wax" was released, and the studios,
according to Belton, were nervously putting their chips on 3D.
