I studied holography under Lloyd at the School of Holography in San
Francisco in the early 70s. For some history of the process see

Integral holography is a cousin of integral photography. As Andrew Woods
points out, integral photography is performed using a "flys-eye" lens
array. This technique was invented by the French scientist Gabriel
Lippmann around 1918. Lippmann also invented interference color
photography for which he received the Nobel prize. The Lippmann-Denisyuk
or reflection hologram is a cousin of Lippmann photography.
