P3D Re: Cardboard Cutout Effect

I have noticed that this flattening effect
is most pronounced in stereo when longer than normal focal length lenses
are used.
It is the stereo version of the compression
effect that makes some telephoto shots in 2D so dramatic. 3Discover has
a Wild Animal (I'm not sure of the exact title) cartridge with many
telephoto stereos.
The cardboard cutout effect is quite severe to experienced and
inexperienced viewers alike.
