Right, got it now. I was thinking originally of an anti-aliasing technique
that's used in raytracing, where you basically trace rays to each *corner* of a
pixel, then average the results.
The technique you mention would use a much more sophisticated algorithm to
combine the date from multiple perspectives into a single image (or stereopair).
I seem to recall that this is a technique that NASA has used, or am I
misremembering?
