P3D calling Java programmers

The following is a bit off topic, but...

In looking at putting together the archives for inclusion on Dan's
cd-rom, it will not be possible to use the current GLIMPSE search
engine since it's unix based. However, with 2600+ digests, some
kind of indexed search needs to be available as straight text
editor searching might well be too slow to be usable.

One suggestion is to make up some kind of html interface using JAVA
as a search engine. The problem is that I'm not a big JAVA programmer,
and don't know what (if anything) might be available along these
lines. Any suggestions from Java/Javascript hot shots would be
appreciated!
