P3D late glass negs

I've recently seen on the net an auction on some glass plate negatives
which are apparently dated in Feb of 1929. This greatly surprises me.
Outside of something like astronomical applications, does anyone
know if there was any great amount of GP work that late?

(Unfortunately these apparently are not stereo...)
