Phil Gray lambasted the Public radio station with this correction:

To which I add:
The waters are very muddy. Bwana Devil (copyright March 13,
1953) did have its world premiere at two Los Angeles Paramount
theaters on November 26th, 1952, without the benefit of a distributor.
United Artists bought the rights and handled the distribution after
March of 1953. February 18th, seems like a strange date to pick
for the anniversary of the premiere!?! Unless that is when the UA
distribrution deal actually started, but why the March copyright?
