There are lots of different tyler-style camera mounts for cars, planes,
helecopters... some are gyrostabilized, some are remote controllable...
they can deliver this "just like being there" POV.

There are also steadicam-type devices which when used with variable
speed filming can achieve this effect close to the ground. Guy-wired,
tracked or robot-mounted motion-controlled cameras (also with variable
speed) can, too...
