George Themelis declares,
>Most anaglyph books should them be banned?
Them are fighting worddds! ;-) We all know your disdain for the
anaglyph image and this is really uncalled for.
Just kiDDDing. I understand the point George is trying to make.
I would have to agree that alot of anaglyphs are very badly
done in books and on the Internet for that matter. This doesn't
mean anaglyphs can't be done properly but surprisingly this isn't
the case. The major problem I see, is the placement of the
stereo window or overlap of the left/right images. Usually
this is so screwed up, that there is severe ghosting and/or
the image is placed beyond the page. This can work but when
done willy nilly, makes for a very unfuseable image. I heard
that the printing inks can pose a problem but luckily they
don't screw up this aspect from the ones I've seen.
On a side note, a few months ago I bought an Epson 600 inkjet
color printer and I was apprehensive, if I could get decent
anaglyph images. Low and behold it printed beautifully straight
of the bat. No fine tuning or tweaking required and have been
very happy with the results produced. Alot better than what
I've seen in books!
P.S. What I would like to try now is lenticulars. I heard
mention that this has been tried. Anybody have any luck doing
this, using an inkjet or laser printer? A 600dpi should be
adequate for simple lenticulars.
Gabriel
