I'd suggest using the image in the camera to adjust the level. I'm sure that the
camera's viewfinder is displaying a flickering double image, right? Just pick
out some handy reference point in the frame and adjust the adapter until the L
and R images are on the same level vertically. Same for adjusting the window
on the thing. Point it at something the distance you want the window set, then do
the adjustment until they're overlapped.
Haven't seen one of the above adapters, but that's what I've used to adjust my
Toshiba camcorder. Works like a charm.
I'd be interested in how the adapter performs with close-ups. I'd suspect it's
assymetric design would cause magnification problems between the two images
if you got too close.
