P3D Re: Warning.
I've been warning people about Cambridge for some time now.
I called and ordered a lens from them and specifically asked
if it was in stock. Because I was eager to use the thing I was
not interested in a back ordered item. They said it was in stock
and I was told to expect it in a few days. A few days turned into
two weeks. I called back and was then told it was on back order but
was expected in a couple days. I was ticked but said ok. Another
week went by and I called back to cancel the order. Shortly after
that I got my Mastercard bill and guess what's on it! Yeh, and no lens
to show for it either! It took another call to get it off and they were
not exactly apologetic either.
Now I know if you order a speciality item you can be expected
to pay up front so the vender doesn't get stuck for it but this was a
common, catalog item. Sorry folks, but it was sleezy to say it was
in stock and then bill me for the item they didn't even have. It's not
a practice becoming of a reputable photo store. Fortunately there are
plenty of other merchants who provide courteous, honest service at
competitive prices.
