P3D Re: C3D (was:Ban everything not specifically 3D?)

Seeing as how Dr. George is in favor of the creation of C3D it is with
some fear and trepidation that I my put my considerable weight (as in
avoirdupois, not influence) behind those who do NOT favor a group.
Someday there will be no more functioning Realists, Kodaks or any other
antique stereo cameras. Some day there will be no more 35mm slide film
and someday there will be no more 35mm film at all, and someday is soon.
Pooh pooh this if you want, but consider the legions of sign painters and
typesetters who entered the 80's sure of a secure retirement and consider
the breakneck speed of computer imaging technology development.
By introducing us to computer information gracefully we will not need to
be carried kicking and screaming into the digital imaging era.
I like learning things here, that's a big reason why I subscribe.
If we all resolve to spend a little less time flagellating deceased
equines, and consider our contributions carefully before jumping into
threads, there will be plenty of space for the odd useful and
interesting computer tidbits.
And if we create C3D and if our most learned film folk do not subscribe
to it, who will keep and eue on the computer folk and keep them out of
trouble.
