This whole discussion about a new list for computer discussion came up
because someone complained about a thread on P3D "not being related to 3D",
when in actual fact it was directly related to 3D--just not to an aspect of
the subject that the original complainant was interested in. What he really
meant when he suggested not allowing anything not directly related to 3D
was that we should not allow anything he personally didn't happen to be
interested in reading. Therefore, after we've branched off into the Realist
list and the Kodak list and the Computer list and the Holmes list and the
Polaroid list and the Pulfrich list and the Magic Eye list and the
View-Master list and this list and that list and the other list, there is
STILL going to be someone somewhere saying, I'm not interested in this
thread, let;'s start a new list! I'd far, far, far rather follow one
conversation that occasionally lags than a dozen unrelated conversations
all going on at the same time.
