Obsessing over grain size and film emulsion is one of my
fave stereo preoccupations! (and I don't think I'm alone!). Think about it -
there is no other group of slightly-nutty photo folks out there who stare for
prolonged periods at magnified, synchronized, transparency originals. Slides
normally are used for projection (where grain is mitigated by projection factors)
or commercial print reproduction (where they can be altered/edited/manipulated
to taste).
Yes indeedy: smaller, finer, sharper, intense-r (nevermind that I'm
shooting on it w/ 50 yr. old lens :-) ).
