I tried doing this using my big (12x16")
homemade light box, a medium format stereo
slide, and our Umax scanner here at work.
It didn't work very well because there
was no way to turn off the lighting from
the scanner. Thus the slide was front lit
and back lit giving very poor contrast.
I was able to get a viewable image out
of it by fiddling with the brightness
and contrast (in Photoshop) but it wasn't
even web page quality.
I can email you the scan if you really
want to see it.
