P3D Proj-or-Views and the NSA....

Okay...I'm sorry I started something..when I
called the hotel direct,
they said the weekend (that's Thurs to Sat or Sun)
rate was $84...and
then I asked about the NSA rooms and they said
they were sold out....so
what I did was call the 1-800 Marriott number, and
they said two rooms
were available, at $89. I was just surprised....
    I do like the NSA conventions and hate to
think that any potential
customer might not be able to make it.


NOW..on the Projector-or-View cleaning (talk about
two diverse
topics)--these are always dirty and sluggish.
   On the bottom are two long rows of
screws...remove them all! And,
there will be two long black metal strips inside
that hold the screws in
place. Now it looks okay to separate the parts-but
the fan must be
disconected by removing the blade assembly with an
allen wrench. Now,
slowly pull all glass and filters and clean--yes
everything!
  Also, carefully remove the lens assembly, clean
and replace the lenses
(approx to there original orientation), and don't
forget to clean the
old grease, re-grease and makes sure the
"inter-oc" is working
perfectly--bend the metal lip if this helps them
separate and return.
Now assemble just about everything--but don't
screw it together yet.
   You'll need to get in there and project a
slide/focus the
lenses/project a slide/re-focus the lenses, ad
infinitum.  Eventually
you'll be able to slide the long metal strips back
in and catch the
screws (I start with the closest screws to the
back, and use my fingers
to start the first few screws). Now turn the
sucker back on and hope you
didn't forget something.      Harry Poster
