P3D "dolly motion 3D"

Did anyone else notice how quickly the "dolly motion/multi
camera" 3D commercials came and went (from the Gap and 
the hair color outfit). It's almost like there was something
in the original contract that limited the number of times each
commercial was shown to a *very* low number. I was pretty much
looking for the effect to be run into the ground from over use,
but the opposite seems to have happened. I wonder if the
ad agencies got large amounts of negative feedback or something?

Or I guess it could be something along the lines of a story I heard
once regarding using female models in ads for men's clothing. They
stopped doing that 
in some cases
because instead of looking at the men's clothes,
the target audience was looking at the female models instead!
