Ok, ok, one more post on the gap of the GAP commercial.
I did't ever think I would perpetuate this rather popular
thread today but just a few minutes ago I saw the said
commerical on the Global network for the first time.
I don't know if it has played before, here in Canada.
There was another one that played for awhile, a few weeks
ago, this was for a beer commericial. It played for awhile
but I didn't get a chance to record it.
As was mentioned, 3-D pics can be derived from these
commercials. Incidentally alot of opportunities exist
for converting panned or pulfrich type programs into
3-D. Assuming you have a frame grabber, which are VERY
cheap nowadays.
Incidentally another way of making your "own" 3-D pics
even if you don't have a frame grabber (or stereo camera)
is just to grab some digital movie files off the net.
Often times 3-D conversions opportunities exist from those
2-D movie clips. Just open two viewers at the same time
and advance frame by frame till you find some 3-D moments!
P.S. For those that have the Scientific American issue which
describes the technique (used in the commercials) there is
a convoluted way to see the few sample images provided in 3-D.
If you have a pair of mirrors check the archives (or Dan's CD!)
for a description that I posted awhile back.
Gabriel
