I think this topic has come up before ,one stereo camera that I can think
of which did have a stereo viewfinder was the Coronet with what they
refered to as a binocular viewfinder . However the Coronet was a very basic
camera and the viewfinders had no lenses in them just plain glass and
seemed to close together for many peoples eyes I had to ream out the
apertures on mine to enable me to use it. I dont think it gives a true
stereo window. A better device was the Stereflex made for Exacta cameras
with beamsplitters. There is a camera in production which has a stereo
viewfinder but is not a stereo camera its called the perfect photo or
perfect shot something like that. It is very simple and intended for
children as it is claimed they have difficulty using just one eye but as
the seperation is right for me I doubt that small children can use both
viewfinders at the same time which is also supposed to help them hold the
camera level. The eyepieces have a single simple lens each and there does
seem to be a convergence window at about 6 or 7 feet the first version
was for 110 so has a rectangular aperture more suited to European format
and cost about thirteen pound sterling although I have already seen second
han ones for less so are cheap enough to buy in order to remove the
viewfinder. There was supposed to be an instant version which used
photocopier technology but instead a 35mm version has been brought out.
