P3D Re: Telephoto Stereoscopic Camera?

Well, I'm about to try my twinned Olympus OM-Gs with 75-150 zoom lenses
(no I haven't sold the Realist Custom.) Does that count as a telephoto
stereoscopic camera? The fun part is seeing if I can get the zooms
synced.

As an aside, I'm considering just mounting the cameras with the right
edge of the right camera butted up against the lens barrel of the left
camera to get a stereo base of about 90 mm. I'm also purchasing several
50mm 1.8 lenses to find a pair with about a 1% difference in focal
length so I can use them on this set up (that way the one with the
longer focal length, when installed on the left camera, will create the
same image size of that of the right one, at about 10 feet). That way I
can use that set up indoors and not have the different distances (from
the subject) of the two cameras make a difference in the pictures.

Also, if I use these lenses for hyper-hyper stereos, the difference in
focal length won't matter because the subject will be so far away.

Just some out loud pondering.

Grant
