This subject periodically resurfaces here at the Stereo Club of So. Calif.
The majority always seems to feel that adjusting during projection is the
better option, to get a "better" view of "beginners'" slides, and to
accomodate masks of varying types . Personally, I feel riding horizontals
is a bad idea--I prefer a little ghosting to the constant eye twisting. It
also screws up deliberate window tricks like "double depth." I won't even
look through my glasses until the adjustments are over.  However,  since we
allow cardboard and unglassed mounts in competition, riding focus and some
vertical adjustment seems almost unavoidable. On the other hand, our club
twin projector rig CAN'T be adjusted during the show, and nobody seems to
miss it there...
