Let me see if I understand this... Your father's day present was to
allow you to roam the flea markets in Tallahassee, instead of spending
time with your daughter? :-) :-) :-)

Outside, no problem. Cotton swab or Q-tip and glass cleaner will
do it. Inside, a bit trickier. Unscrew two side screws. Then try
and reach with a Q-tip. It is better if you take the focusing
assembly apart (tricky). Then you can clean carefully, tighten
interocular and focusing, and slightly lubricate when putting back.

For the outside case I recommend cleaning/polishing. I also
recommend cleaning the electrical contacts (especially the switch)
and installing a frosted halogen bulb.

I am working on a book on the red button viewer which hopefully will
be ready for the NSA convention. This is a second edition. First
one was in 1994. Also, I recondition, repair, enhance (this includes
a 8p conversion) red button viewers.

PS. You did not tell us how much your "present" cost... maybe trying
to avoid making us jealous of your good fortune? :-)
