P3D Camera Buying in Europe.

Being here in the UK I also buy a lot by post. Getting a camera unless it
is from someone you know or trust is a risky business. People who sell on
EBAY may not even realise that the camera which appears to click and looks
OK is faulty, they may well assume that because the last roll worked (which
could have been 30 years ago) that the camera is still working fine.

The American market has far more cameras, a red button viewer here for
example is quite rare. Two suggestions are:-

Join a society. As a member of the Stereoscopic Society I see cameras,
known to the stereo community,  come up for sale. Societies can also supply
mounts etc. at good prices. You get to meet other people and get access to
libraries and magazines etc.

or

Buy from Dr. T. ; I'm certainly waiting till have got enough cash to buy
one of his cameras. He offers excellent prices compared to Europe, the
camera has been checked, cleaned and comes with a manual which he normally
sells for about $10 on its own. An international money order or I have
heard a Eurocheque written in dollars will get payment to him and you're
sure of what you're getting.
