Yes, it is curable. Once upon a time I had a movie camera with a non-tapered
cable release socket. There were cable releases sold for it, as well as an
adapter.
I would cheerfully sell you mine (at a high price, of course) if it were
not that I have no idea where they are, and were I not planning to replace
my Wirgin with a Realist any day now.
Sorry, but they probably still exist, someplace.
