P3D THROWING OUT THE BABY WITH THE BATH WATER

During those times on the PHOTO-3D LIST when everyone bands
together to purge an individual who proclaims they have a
revolutionary $6.99 optical device that produces 3-D from 2-D
material, I get very nervous.

As some of you are now aware it is possible to create a
stereoscopic image from any color picture in a magazine using
only your fingers. Admittedly, not everyone can do it since the
3-DVG technique must be learned. However, I take offense at
remarks targeting such rip off devices without making a special
exception for the 3-DVG effect.

For those of you interested in learning how to do it I refer you
to the 3-DVG home page at:

More information on implementing the 3-DVG effect with your
fingers can be found in the November/December 1994 of Stereo
World magazine (p. 30-33).

Comments from John Dennis on the 3-DVG Initiation Model
optical device appeared in Stereo World's March/April 1993
issue (p. 35-36).

Information on the advanced 3-DVG optical device appeared
in "A new 3-D from 2-D visual display process," SPIE, Vol. 1915,
pp. 132-140, 1993.

And yes, the 3-DVG Initiation Model does cost $6.99!! :-)

Respectfully submitted

Ken Dunkley
