I am sorry but I don't understand how either the rewind knob or the
film tension plate will have anything to do with the film advance
situtation. The only component that controls the film advance
sequence is the film sprocket wheel at the center of the camera.
I assume that you passed the film under the guard and engaged to
this film sprocket wheel.
Another theory is that when you advance you hold down the advance button
(small button in back right side) for too long. This button is to be
pressed momentarily and then released. If you keep it pressed while
you advance then you will keep on advancing without stopping.
