I think you have to judge their reaction without prompting. I
recently showed my best friend's 3 year old daughter my MF stereo
slides in a Saturn MF slide viewer. While I was holding the viewer (I
didn't want to worry about her dropping it) she would reach ahead of
herself trying to get the objects in the scenes. I'm pretty sure she
was seeing in 3D, and her parents thought she could see 3D with
View-Master. She also went through all my View-Master reels while
they visited.
