Did you make these points clear to them?

1. Equipment can cost very little.
2. There is vitrually no hi-tech knowledge involved.
3. They will be more amazed by their own 3d pictures.

The next step is to LOAN them a stereo camera.  Here!  Try this and then
you can tell me if these statements are true or not.  When is your next
trip/vacation?  Will you like to try it this weekend?

That's what I have done and I have had a few successes.

That's another argument to have more than one stereo camera around (but 
does not have to be a different brand necessarily).
