P3D Re: Loreo Viewer
The viewer is a very pleasant item with its large lenses. I've used it for
all sorts of stereo pairs, none taken with a Loreo, which I don't own.
I've used both my beamsplitters and also cha-cha pairs from single-use
cameras. I used it when I taught the mini-courses on stereo photgraphy
at my school.
I'm sure it would work fine with a pair of prints from the
outer lenses of a Nimslo--all you have to do is find someone to make
those for you--Grand Photo is one choice, and I hear they are good. I
talked with their stereo print maker and she is very nice.
The viewer is available separately. Reel-3D had them for a very high price.
I got mine at a local camera store. They were ordering one for me and it
was slow in coming. When I went in one day to ask about it, they pulled
one out of an outfit and sold it to me for $20, _much_ less than
Reel-3D (I think they were seeing them around $50!).
Although the lenses are nice because of their size, for kids or eyeglass
wearers, they are not achromats and do have some color fringing, but of
course for viewing prints achromats are going to be large and expensive,
and I can't imagine any that size--it would be possible but would cost
a fortune!
