I had a similar idea a couple of years ago.. after reading some information on
lenticlar printers (like Nimslo?) that used lenticular sheets coated with photographic
emulsion and exposed with an enlarger through the lenuticuls. I even thought about
a viewer that had a lenticular sheet built in that you could slot these ready spliced
prints into and see in 3D... of course the logical progression would be to use movie
film (or video?) and play back by projecting onto the frosted back of a lenticular
screen.
Unfortunatley the more I thought about the less convincing it started to sound. e.g.
lenticular screen in the camera would have to finer than the resulting viewing screen
(or prints would have to be the same size as the negatives) because of the
enlargemnt factor. Also Im unsure if only one copy of the 3 views exist under each
lenticul.. I seem to remember reading that each of the 3 stripes is recorded multiple
times so that the angle of view (sweet spot?) is wider...
I still think it should be possible but needs a person with far more technical abilities
than me to figure it all out :)
