A single remote will indeed fire more than one camera of the same type.
The trouble lies in the fact these remotes work in line of sight fashion
to the sensor on the camera. They don't work from the back of the
camera which is where you would want it if you were using a pair for
stereo. You couldn't very well stick your hand out in front for firing.
These remotes are provided as a substitute for a self timer. They are
used from the front by a person in the picture. I've tried it for
stereo purposes. These problems are difficult to overcome.
Additionally, many of these remotes do not fire the shutters
instantaneously. A drag when your trying to bag the "decisive moment".
