Well, I'm not saying you're wrong, but several people say they get
increased depth of field by putting a little light by the sensor. I can't
account for this result unless the aperture/shutter is doing it. There are
no other moving parts in the light path.
I'll build one just for fun, and see if I can equal the "little light"
solution.
