P3D The Springsteen Prize

The library is closed tomorrow, and I start a new job on Monday - so I
will be unable to enjoy the ingenious remarks of P3Ders for a couple
of days.

Until then - 

Persons wishing to prevail in the Stereo Base Calculator Challenge
should report *substantial* progress not just (or at all) to the list,
but to my personal e-mail.  Upon returning to the library I will enjoy
your comments in order of receipt.  Non-results-oriented arguments and
idle speculation should go to P3D only, pleasurable and useful though
they may be. 

If you intend to win by design, I would suggest creating an accurate
model or drawing of some sort, photocopying it (it doesn't have to be
a kit - just a picture), writing a brief explanatory paragraph to go
with it, and requesting my snail-mail address via personal e-mail. 
This is necessary because I am unable to view many forms of on-line
graphics.  I will respond in order of receipt, and at my leisure. ;-)  

If you wish to claim prior art or impossibility, send your evidence
via e-mail, or if pictorial aids are necessary, request snail mail
(C'mon postage ain't *that* expensive).

I promise not to steal or divulge any *original* ideas or features. 
Wouldn't want to anyway.  Materials will be returned after reasonable
mastication.  (Look THAT up in your Dinkum Dictionary!)

Questions about the "criteria" are your problem.  Read the garbled
previous posts and make of them what you can.  You might get lucky.

I may however enlist the services of a credible co-judge.  Anyone
wanting to serve in that capacity, drop a note.  In the likely event
that I don't understand the merits of a given response, the co-judge
should be prepared to construct a plausible bluff.

Grab your scissors and glue and abaci, and come out calculating.
