Modern P&S cameras also have  shutter and apeture settings too, only they may
have only one setting.  If you set the Realist to that (or some other
singular) setting and don't change it, you have a P&S.  If the focus
is set appropriately (up front before it's been turned into a P&S) then
it'll be fixed-focus like the cheaper P&S's are (as opposed to AF like
the spendier P&S's).

If one finds the ability to change the settings disconcerting on one's
Realist P&S, perhaps the application of duct tape over the adjustments
will help to keep the P&S faith.  :-)
