No, unfortunately the flash end of this cord has a proprietary
connector.

I suspected a similar thing and plugged the flash into a PC extension
cord last night. When I shorted the camera end of the extension with
my pocket knife, the flash fired, so there is no question of
continuity with the extension. When the extension is plugged into the
Realist, the flash will not fire, but my OM flash will fire when
plugged into the same extension and connected to the Realist. It
baffles the heck outta me.
