P3D Re: RBT masking

After my last posting on "double depth", I actually looked at a RBT mount,
and immediately saw a better way to mask these mounts. This idea is good
for any type of custom masking or sandwiching, not just double depth. It
will cost you a bit tho'... (but you'll make some back in saved labor!)

Although the RBT mount has only one set of peg bars, it has two channels
for them. If you swipe a set of peg bars from another mount, you can align
one set of chips on the top bars, and another set of chips on the bottom.
Of course, you have to cut the unused perfs off the chips, to clear the
pegs for the other set. This means you can independently control the depth
of the two chipsets. You should pay attention to emulsion position, to
minimize Newton rings. (i.e., you don't want to mount the chips
base-to-base)

Are spare peg bars available for the RBT mounts?

P.S. Thanks to 3D Concepts for donating some sample RBT mounts to SCSC, and
thanks to Lawrence Kaufman for bringing them to our Movie Division Meeting.
I never had the chance to play with them before.
