I live in New York, and always find used camera equipment stores here to be
very overpriced. Some guy finds an old Kodak and thinks it's worth $300.
You might try eBay if you are brave. I can also highly recommend George
Themelis. His cameras are excellently priced, and he really goes out of
his way to be helpful. He posts on this list frequently.

There's a fine idea. I don't think there is a FAQ, maybe because nobody
wants to tackle the Realist vs Kodak debate. Seriously, the closest thing
we have are web pages, and here are a few to get you started:

http://www.dddesign.com/3dbydan/
http://www.3dstereo.com/catalog.htm
http://www.3d-web.com/
http://www.stereoscopy.com/services.html
http://calcite.rocky.edu/photo-3d/ghindex.html

This last one is excellent. It's a a search engine that let's you tap into
the combined wisdom of this mailing list. All the online stereo experts
have been here at one time or another.

Best of luck to you!

Tom
