P3D Re: Need for a Separate Sell-3D?

|The workaround has been to mention in an oblique manner on P3D products
|and/or sales available on sell-3d - like I just did with this message.
|
|So it should be clear that I find the original notion attractive: let's try
|it without a separate list (sell-3d). Keeping an S3D subject prefix is a
|good idea. Of course, I've not been on P3D or sell-3D that long, so what
|do I know?
|

A couple of nuts and bolts notes - the only way to maintain the prefix, but with
different values as to whether it's p3d or sell3d would be to maintain two lists with
identical subscriber lists, a fairly labor intensive process considering that generally there
are about 10 additions/deletions per day to the p3d list alone (it would double for
two lists with the same subscriber list).

In order to maintain the subscriber lists in synchronization, the option of having an ACK
sub to one and a DIGEST to the other would probably go away - they'd both have to
be the same.

I have no objection to a one liner on p3d saying something like "see sell 3d for my
current offerings", although I also think that anyone who is in the market to buy/sell
is probably already subscribed to sell-3d, and others don't want to be subjected to
sell ads (I'm assuming that per message delivery charges in the USA are pretty
much a thing of the past - although it may still be the case overseas. At one point
someone in a fairly remote area in Africa was having to pay $1 - $2 PER MESSAGE
plus a length charge for delivery). I'd be curious if anyone on the list still has that
situation.

THANKS
