P3D List manners

A year or so ago, when I thought I had been on the Photo-3D
list long enough to sometimes have something useful to
contribute, I made a few attempts at sending answers to
questions or comments to the list. I usually got a few
replies that, while they did not use the word, implied that
my thoughts were too stupid to be considered. So now, if I
am fairly sure that I have the answer to a question, I send
an Email directly to the person.

I think there is something about EMAIL communication that
causes some to say things they wouldn't say if they were
face to face with the person, or if they had to find a pen
and paper, write a letter, find an envelope and stamp, and
mail it. Technology has made it too easy to say what comes
off the top of our head, without time to think or consider
the feelings at the other end. This is probably magnified in
ACK mode.

Or maybe I'm wrong, maybe some folks on the list are just so
egotistical that they think that anyone who disagrees with
them must be an idiot, unworthy of any consideration.

Let's try a little harder to be civil, at least,
