P3D Stereo Dinner in Manhattan Tomorrow

Like Friday night in Richmond, a few stereo friends will meet at a
restaurant tomorrow in Manhattan and share a meal and some slides.  If it's
half as fun, you'll have a great time.

Let me tell you about Friday night of the NSA convention.  It was just a
spur of the moment thing.  About eight of us walked to a little cafe around
7pm.  I knew some names from P3D: Brenda, George, Boris and others, but I
really didn't know anybody.

I have rarely enjoyed myself so much.  I must say it was the highlight of
my visit to Richmond.  We shared stories, and passed around some slides.  A
really pleasant evening.

Turns out, Boris is not a dirty old man, he's my age and totally normal!
:^)  And George isn't bombastic or beligerent, he's almost soft-spoken and
thoroughly pleasant.  John let me touch his RBT, whoa!  Brenda is sweet,
really nice.  Alexander had some very thoughtful observations, so I'm glad
I sat close. Tom kept ordering more beer and playing troublemaker, which he
does very well.

We had several sets of slides going around the table.  Sometimes, they
drifting off into the restaurant.  Other tables wanted to join our fun, and
so did the wait staff and guys behind the bar.

We talked and laughed so long that we completely missed the midnight
showing of "Dial M"! !  That's right, we sat there for over five hours, and
I was so sorry to see the evening end.

I had such a great time, I thought I would try to get some stereo people
together in Manhattan.  So that's what we will do tomorrow night.  We'll
meet at La Cocina, at 85th and Broadway.  Excellent food.  Several good,
big meals under ten bucks.  We will be seated in the quiet downstairs
dining room. There is a full bar upstairs.

(Note: DO NOT CONFUSE this with the fall meeting of the New York
Stereoscopic Society.  Same city, different event.  The NYSS fall meeting
will be in October at the usual place.)

We'll be there from 6:30pm til after 10.  Look for the 3D glasses,
downstairs.  See you tomorrow.
