Dont worry Ken your not going mad... I had the same problem. I noticed it
when I was trying to check/adjust the focus/rangefinder on my 3.5, after having
had the lenses apart to clean some fungus off them.

As as I rotated the focus wheel the top of the film gate would some times stick
while the bottom continued to move. I must say that I didn't noticed any image size
problems, perhaps I should go back and check some old slides. Anyway I traced the
problem to the sprocket counting cog mechanism, in the top of the Realist. A spot of
silicon oil on the face of the metal connecting pawl seems to have cured the problem,
but I keep an eye on it each time I load a new film.

On a related note my Realist 3.5 also vignettes at f11 , although I only really notice it
on shots with lots of clear sky. My 2.8 doesn't vignette at all.. although tI dont really
see any improved sharpness between the images produced.
