 3M makes this type of tape, offers custom slitting, and the last time I
 heard, widths measured in feet. Just the think to glass bind those 11 X 14
 Dual View Camera Stereo Slides. Also, at one time, E. Leitz offered it as
 well.

The 3M/Scotch tape is number 850 and is available in silver and in black.  My
local camera store (Industrial Photo in Silver Spring, MD) carries it in .25"
(6.35mm), .375" (9mm) and .5" (12.5mm).  I think a similar product is also
available from Permacell....
