I think that the IMAX people may have just had a different definition of
the term "window violation". I think a censure rather than a fine is in
order.
I saw the Mark Twain IMAX 3d at the Galveston TX theater two weeks ago.
Great movie in content.
Some wonderful 3d shots, especially some of the antique stereoviews.
Absolutely full of window violations that did bother me. They
consistantly put the images right in front of my face rather than
slightly behind the screen. I noticed, and I wish they had done it
differently.
I felt like the images were being pushed at me.
My wife verified this opinion without any input from me.
With the other 6 people in the theater watching the movie, I'm not sure
they are reaching the million$ figure yet. ;-)
