P3D Re: Silver Tape

Light Impressions in Rochester sells tape that should be suitable
for your needs. They have an extensive listing of of archival supplies. 

Polyester film Tape #850 comes in various widths in both
silver and black. I have the black and it is very thin. I use it
mostly for masking but have sealed mounts with it also.

Slide Masking Tape #425  is an ultra-thin reflective aluminum
polyester laminate tape that can used to bind edges of glass slides.
