Question: You mentioned that there were Window violations. What does a
slide have to do to violate the Stereo Window? Just curious. For me, I love
to violate the window. I love stereo where as much as possible comes
thorough the Stereo Window, But that is just me. >>
A "window violation" is a depiction of a situation that could not occur with a
physical window (though without the glass!).
So a giraffe's head attached to a neck that extends through the window
aperture, but is not cut by the window aperture is fine, but the top half of a
person standing unsupported in front of the window (because their legs are
hidden by the window frame, and therefore must be behind the window frame) is
not ok.
In practice, the window violations that I find hard to accept from experienced
stereographers are the floating edges caused by image parts at the edge of the
frame that are mounted to bring them in front of the window...
