P3D VM film storage- one tip and one question

1) a question
I shoot many rolls of VM format every
year. Although I usually mount the "keepers"
fairly quickly, I am left with a partially cut
film looking like a Swiss cheese which I
don't want to throw away
because it still has many usable shots I may
wish to use later. Because of the VM format
I can't just cut the remaining film up in to even
lengths and store in a negative file or similar.
I currently roll loosly and put in a sealable
plastic bag , but am worried about a> chemical
stability of the film in a plastic bag b> they
take up a lot of space rolled loosely, and I now
have so many!
Any bright ideas for storing developed, partially
cut VM films like this?
2)a tip
Still on the esoteric subject of VM film storage
(cue for 90% of list to stop reading). I have found
an effective way to store cut VM film chips. My
local stamp and coin collectors shop sells
PVC pages for the storage of coins in an album.
Each page has a number of little pockets to slip
the coins in.They come in a variety of formats,
but the smallest has 80 pockets to a page,
which can store a whole film cut in to chips. I
have used this on occassions when a friend
without a VM cutter has sent me a film to cut
for him, I pop the cut pairs in each pocket
and post the page back to him.
INCIDENTALLY - if anyone is wondering why
I dont use clever tip 2 to solve my question 1,
its because I don't have the time or patience
to cut all the pairs out - I just want a quick safe
cheap compact storage method!
Thanks for any advice.
