I drove 3 hours and then sat in the dark I would be fast asleep within
15 minutes. Traffic in this area is noted for its ferocity, so I find
any extended trip during the evening rush something of a trial.

At my previous job, as a manager of software development, I would have
had to ask myself for permission. Surprising how hard it is to let the
junior people get the impression that the senior people are getting
away with something.
At this point I am teaching math and computer science at the state
university level, with my later class ending at 6:45. Then add 15
minutes to walk to parking, or a quarter of an hour waiting to get
out of a parking garage. The only time I've tried it the main part
of the program was nearly over, but I did get to see a few slides.
I'm planning to try again next month, even though Tuesday is Election
Day, but then the December meeting is a lunch, and for January school
won't have started yet.
I seriously considered refusing the late class, but the math in that
class is the most advanced I have ever taught, and the chance was too
good to pass up.
Sincerely,
George
