Depending on how the camera autofocuses, it could be fooled by the
airplane window. Certainly a Polaroid camera (which uses ultrasonic
ranging) would be fooled. Cameras using passive optical ranging (most
35mm autofocus cameras) might be fooled by reflections, scratches, or
on the window. Cameras using active optical ranging (e.g., send out
an IR beam and focus on the reflection) could also be fooled.

What's wrong with taking one pair of photos, wait a few seconds (or
whatever), and taking a second pair of photos? Wouldn't you wind up
with two pair of hyperstereos (e.g., right1/right2 and left1/left2)?
This would basically give you in camera copies.
