The pixels are there and 2100 is probably "good enough" for all but the most
demanding.

The HP's big deficiency is 10 bits per channel, but then that is cost related.  Most
users have rated it as very cost effective.    There is quality 3rd party software for
it and the users have done things that HP says you can't do, like scan 110 negatives.

It will definitely scan standard 35 mm cardboard mount slides.

Try asking in rec.photo.digital, lots of HP users there.
