P3D Scanners for slides

First, how much quality do you need? There are some high end scanners and
there are some 'not worth the bother' scanners. Also, I think any scanner
that will work well for 35MM will work for any subset of that format. I
also think it would be better to remove the chips from the mounts or scan
them before mounting them.
